I am talent manager in Los Angeles and I own an agency.  The agency represents actors and writers.  I also produce movies and plays when I am lucky enough to raise or find the money and get the project made.  It is a very competitive business.  A movie I produced for HBO is now being developed as a musical.  The musical may be produced in Connecticut in late 2012.  I have a movie in development at Lifetime.  I was a contributor in a book for writers entitled “Now Write!” published by Tarches/Penguin.  I love what I do.
I still suffer from wanderlust.  I have traveled extensively and I like solo adventure travel.  I just returned from climbing Machu Picchu in Peru.

And they said business students couldn't go to college, but we were a special group and with the influence of Mr. Butts, hard work, timing, lots of support from SCSC/U I managed to complete Masters' degrees in Art Education and School Counseling, an Administrative Certificate, and a DARC two year program at Gateway.  I worked for SCSC, Macy's, Circuit City, Manpower +++, but my most satisfying was for a Certified Work Therapy Program at the VA Healthcare facility for six years.  All of this while teaching middle school art and participating in professional activities in first Milford and then Wallingford (Dag Hammarskjold Middle School).  I retired in 2004, moved from North Branford to Naples, Florida for two years, got bored and received a teaching telephone offer from Surprise, Az. (at my age).  so I joined my son in Surprise.  teaching K-8 Art.  The first 3 years weren't bad, but the last 2 definitely told me I was ready to retire again....great learning experience!  So that's the name of that story! looking forward to seeing everyone...I'm working at downloading a "good" picture!

Married for 43 years, we have two daughters, and three grandaughters.  My wife, Marion has just retired from the IRS.  We love traveling, cruising, and spur of the moment trips.  I worked in construction until an accident and retired from the trucking industry in 2006.  My wife,Marion and me at Graceland September 11,2011.  I(we) love to see Elvis's home.  We have been there twice and hope to continue our traveling as we are both retired and in good health.  From my clothes you may wonder why,I was an impersonator until recently and now just dress up for different events.

After 9 years of school and work in New York, I returned to New Haven as an assistant U.S. attorney (federal prosecutor) and married Marika Moore of Washington, D.C., who I met in mid-town Manhattan the day the '69 Mets won the World Series.

Some good times there, but I found that you "can't go home." We moved to the DC area in 1974, the day Nixon left town. We had two daughters and a number of dogs as I worked as a lawyer and Marika became a psychotherapist.

Fast forward. We've been married for 40 years, the girls are married with one toddling son each, and are professionally established as owner of an interior design business and a plaintiff's civil rights attorney, respectively.

I am practicing law at a 60% level as Senior Counsel, spending time most weekends at our West Virginia getaway (90 minutes away), and spending quality time with grandsons. A very satisfying "victory lap" that I hope to continue for a while.

I made the 40th and loved it. One of those grandsons (see photo)will be visiting D.C. over reunion weekend. Can just wish you all a wonderful time.  Hopefully next time.  Barry

Donna and I retired to Cape Cod in 2000 and really enjoy the relaxed life here.  We both had careers in information technology, mine primarily with IBM.

One special treat to living here is we get to host Jerry and Phyliss [Goldberg] Shubs every summer, and the conversation invariably returns at some point to our unforgettable Hillhouse '61 experiences.

Hi: This is the 2nd input into the HHHS website as they have apparently have a new web provider and they must have LOST my original writeup.
During HS I was always working after school so I was not very involved in HH activities except for the Gun Club (as my dad used to work/shoot there) at Winchester. My job at the Westville 1st National grocery chain eventually got transferred about 12 miles away which then made matters worse (less time-more bus rides). Without a mom at home (deceased at my age of 8) I was not the most focused student and just squeaked by my college course including 3 yrs. of French (somehow). When the Air Force wouldn’t guarantee me the electronic schooling that I wanted I enrolled in the Connecticut School of Electronics, which ironically, was located in West Haven. After two straight years of working my way thru that (including summers) I graduated with a 2-yr degree in electronics. I then worked a year in Bridgeport at a company called Singer Electronics (yes, it was a subsidiary of Singer Sewing Machines). As I was working with the engineers at Singer, they encouraged me to go back to school for Electrical Engineering due to the talent they saw in me (I guess). Took some math classes at New Haven College in the summer to get me up to speed with respect to the math that I did not get (or take with my HHHS college courses). In 1964 I enrolled in their engineering program and graduated in 1968 from the University of New Haven with a BSEE.
I then went to work for a Navy Research Lab located in New London, CT (not far from the submarine base in Groton). In 1969 I got married to Sharlene O’Donnell in New Haven, CT and we moved up in the New London area. We subsequently had 3-kids who all grew up in our first house we built on 2-acres of land in Old Lyme, CT. (yes, where Lyme disease was “discovered” by the locals as many residents brought it to the attention of CT Medical folks). That’s how Lyme Disease got its name.
My electromagnetic engineering career took me to many, many Naval bases and ships/sub's to solve their problems and I had many AT-SEA trips on submarines and surface ships including one aircraft carrier (JFK). I completed graduate work at the University of CT, the University of R.I and the Naval Postgraduate school. I rose up from being a principal investigator to program manager, to Branch Head and then to Engineering Division head after our Navy Lab was moved to Newport, R.I. My last year working for the Dept of Defense was spent supporting the Staff of Admiral Giambastiani who was in Command of SUBLANT headquarters in Norfolk, Va.
After I retired from the department of defense in 2000 (30-year career) I was offered an EE job at Raytheon Company in Sudbury MA (area called MetroWest by the Boston area folks). After a number of years helping to design Early Warning Radar facilities used to detect incoming missiles, etc. I was asked by Draper Lab, which was located at MIT Sq in Cambridge, to work with them as I had the Electromagnetic Environmental Effect knowledge, they needed to redesign their new guidance system. The original guidance system is what brought the space teams to and from the moon successfully. After 6-years I told them that they didn’t need me anymore and we built a retirement house on about 8-acres of land and I then worked out of my home office in Westport, MA to support Raytheon R.I. underwater sonar and mine detection systems. I finally retired from that 2nd engineering career in January of 2022 to stay home and bother my wife. It turns out that I am also now a property manager for my two daughters who live on the East and West Coast. My son is the only one remaining in CT these days.

IT LOOKS LIKE MY ORIGINAL WRITEUP DID FINALLY GET TRANSFERRED (BELOW my recent writeup) AND I CAN'T SEEM TO DELETE IT. I EMAILED THEM AND ASKED WHY IT WASN'T TRANSFERRED AND I GUESS THEY FINALLY TOOK SOME ACTION. Sorry for the older repeat below.

May 2011 update: Sharlene and I still living in S/E MA and I'm still driving to Cambridge/Boston area for engineering work Tuesday thru Thursday each week. We've been upgrading some baths and floors to prepare for an eventual sale to downsize our lives.  A larger house means longer cleaning therefore....... We both have been blessed with fairly good health. Jen is still changing her career path from Computer/Information services to Nursing and has just passed her prerequisite courses needed for her RN training. Chrystie and our four young grandkids are still hanging tough in S/E RI and with some help from us they will stay afloat after her Ex returned to England. Shane is still in CT with his girl friend and have 3 cats and one dog and he's still struggling with his departments budgets as a result of a decline in newspaper readership and the economy. Who said it takes less of your time to help your kids after they grow up? I'd like to offer a mid-course correction to that mis-conception (ha).

*********************  Basic Info  *************
High School Life Summary: Unfortunately, I didn't have a lot of time for socializing or playing sports during my high school years since I worked after school and each summer throughout my high school "career".  Things were OK but since we didn't have a mom around to keep me focused I didn't become a real student until I left high school and started paying my way through a two year electronics education at the Connecticut School of Electronics which turned out (after a year of work in Bridgeport)  to be the beginning of my electrical engineering training and subsequent career.
Post High School Life: Two years of electronics school training at Connecticut School of Electronics followed by year of work in the Bridgeport, CT area. Then 4 years more schooling to obtain a BSEE at the University of New Haven. Over my engineering  career I've completed other Post Graduate work at UCONN, URI, & the Naval Postgraduate School. Professionally my area of expertise has been in field of Electromagnetics thru-out my Navy Department Laboratory civilian career: first as Principal Investigator, then Senior Engineering Technologist, then R & D Program Manager, & finally Head of our Engineering Division. During the last half year of my Navy Department career I was selected to be on the technical staff of Admiral Giambastiani who, at the time, was in charge of submarine forces Atlantic Fleet (SUBLANT) which was located in Norfolk, VA. He was great to work with and soon rose to be a Four-Star admiral and vice-chairman of the Joints Chiefs of staff (2nd highest military officer in the country). Sharlene and I spent a great 7 months while on that assignment in Norfolk, Virginia.
In 2000,  I was honored by the International Engineering Society to be elected as a IEEE Fellow for my engineering accomplishments in shipboard Electromagnetic Compatibility.  I have been married to Sharlene O'Donnell Dixon since 1969; we created three kids who are now located in RI, and CT. Four grand kids now live in Charlestown, RI. We have built houses and lived in shoreline area's of Old Lyme, CT (26 years), Kingston, RI (6 years) and Dartmouth, MA (present) with one shorter (~5 year) (non shoreline) residence in Marlborough,MA to support my Post-retirement engineering career. We are presently updating a  contemporary passive solar house located in the shoreline community of Dartmouth, MA which we thought would be our retirement house but it turns out to be way too big to continue to clean.  After my Navy department retirement, I started my second engineering career working as a Sr. Principal Engineer in Electromagnetic Environmental Effects for Raytheon Company at their Sudbury, MA facility working on Defense & Homeland Security tasks.  Over the past four years I've been on a special assignment supporting Draper Lab at MIT which is located in Cambridge, MA developing improved Guidance Systems. My real email can be figured out  by replacing the "at" and "dot" in  dsdatieeedotorg with the appropriate signs.
